Julian Grau Santos was born in 1937 in Canfranc (Huesca), the son of Emilio Grau Sala. Linked to expressionism, he held numerous exhibitions, both in Spain and Paris.

 In 1987 he exhibited for the first time in the United States (Los Angeles, California) and in 1992 in Japan (Tokyo). In 1993 a retrospective was held at the Mapfre Vida Foundation (Madrid).
