Josep Domènech Sánchez was born in Barcelona in 1952.

His works are particularly devoted to partial images of female bodies, which emerge from chiaroscuro and sometimes approach abstraction; his veiled matte colours, siennas, blacks and greys softly transmit light to the figures. His still lifes are unmistakable, his tables occupied by delicate ceramic objects and even a piano and its score emerging from a deep fog.
